5 ways to use apples

This year my family created a fall bucket list bucket! (If you want to see all the things on the bucket list, you can check it out here.) Last week, Ellie picked 'try a new apple recipe'. So, of course, I went out and bought pounds upon pounds of apples. And then, I needed to find a way to use them all. So here are 5 ways to use apples this fall.

  1. Be an apple scientist

  2. Apple Taste Test

  3. Art with apples.

  4. Life Lesson with apples

  5. Cook with apples

We have tried out 3 awesome apple recipes that we wanted to share with you today! These recipes are kid-approved, and not only did Ellie enjoy eating these recipes, but she also helped make them! Head over here to download these recipes now!

Ellie has decided that she wants to be a chef when she grows up. So we are encouraging that by allowing her to help in the kitchen as much as she wants. As a sensory seeker (more on that here), Ellie enjoys smelling things and touching things. So the kitchen is a great place for her to fill those needs. Ellie gets to measure, mix, and smell all of the spices that we use.

Meatloaf is one of Ellie's favorite recipes, mostly because she loves smushing it together when we are mixing it. This meatloaf is our absolute favorite. It's a great fall recipe that features granny smith apples and allspice. I love recipes like this one because it is super quick to throw together, and you have plenty of time to clean up while it's in the oven.

Apple Grilled Cheese. I found the recipe on Pinterest (if you don't follow me, you should), and it is so good! This recipe from Recipe Girl is a delicious combination of apples, cranberries, and brie with a hint of wine. The bite to the apple gives a nice sweet crunch that perfectly compliments the gooey brie.

Baked Apple Crumble is a new recipe that we just tried! My aunt sent it to me, and I love how easy it is to throw together! You can make this recipe even easier by buying the packs of pre-peeled and sliced apples. Top this with vanilla ice cream, and yuuummm. Delicious flavors of apple, a delightful crunch from the crumble with the ice cream's cold, creamy smoothness, it doesn't get better.
